Index Energy is a North American based renewable energy company. Index Energy’s first investment in North America was the Ajax Steam Plant, an acquisition process started in 2006 with closing during 2007 and is in the process of transforming the site into a state of the art cogeneration facility utilizing wood biomass as its primary fuel source.
Index Energy is part of the Index Estate Group of Companies. Index Estate is a Swedish based private equity firm that primarily focuses on real estate investments. The company was formed in 1998 and has a strong record of successful property investments in the Stockholm area. In early 2007, Index Estate entered into a joint venture with Babcock and Brown Limited Group and formed Index Estate Babcock & Brown Investments AB ("IEBB Investments") which is a joint venture owned 50% by Index Estate Property Partners ("IEPP") and 50% by Babcock & Brown BBGP (Sweden) S.A.R.L. (a company within the Babcock & Brown Limited Group). IEBB Investments is established for the purpose of acquiring, developing, managing and disposing of real estate property projects.
Index Energy consists of highly dedicated and experienced professionals with complementary backgrounds and proven skills from engineering and related background and will draw on the wealth of experience of Index Estate in the areas of real estate, financial, legal and investment banking sectors. We are independent from large construction and financial companies and we believe this is a key to our success since, by being independent, we can always use the partners best suited for each specific project.
